Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of proven experience in municipal roadway planning and design.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D or similar design software.
  • Strong understanding of roadway design standards, including those related to municipalities, Caltrans, and federal requirements.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with a focus on delivering exceptional client service.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Professional Engineer (PE) license highly preferred but not required (or ability to obtain within 1 year).

Responsibilities

  • Lead and contribute to the design and production of municipal roadway projects, including road widening, resurfacing, intersection improvements, and multimodal infrastructure.
  • Perform engineering calculations, create plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
  • Coordinate with project teams, clients, and stakeholders to meet project goals and deadlines.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal standards, including ADA and other roadway requirements.
  • Participate in field reviews and site visits to support design accuracy and project delivery.
  • Provide technical support to junior staff, mentoring and sharing knowledge as part of the team effort.
  • Collaborate with clients to maintain strong relationships and provide exceptional service.
