NV5 has an opportunity for a mid-level Roadway Engineer to join our Civil Transportation/Roadway Department in Morristown, NJ office. We are seeking a motivated candidate with 5 -10 years of New Jersey roadway or highway engineering experience. This position provides the opportunity to be an integral member of a multi-discipline design team, looking for exposure to the various disciplines required for advancing transportation and civil related NJDOT and County projects. Our multi-discipline design team approach will provide the successful candidates the opportunity to pursue a long-term career path in a well-established New Jersey based practice. We currently have a wealth of interesting projects, and given our office current workload and backlog, this position provides excellent opportunities for fast-track career growth. Our office also has a significant backlog of (Transportation Assistance Program (TAP) and Safe Routes to School (SRTS) projects through NJDOT.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering (BSCE)
  • NJ PE License
  • 5 -10 years of New Jersey roadway or highway engineering experience

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with TAP and SRTS projects through NJDOT Local Aid a Plus.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a supportive team environment in delivering transportation and civil related projects.
  • Preparation of roadway/highway design and plan development from conceptual design to final contract plans.
  • Preparation of technical reports and studies, including Concept Development and Final Design Reports.
  • Lead project field visits to perform condition assessments and inventory of substandard/critical design elements.
  • Collaborate with multidiscipline design engineers and technicians.
  • Opportunities to develop Project Management skills
  • Public Outreach tasks
  • Participate in professional organizations and technical societies.
