About The Position

As a Roadway Design Engineer, you will apply engineering principles and technical expertise to the design and analysis of transportation projects, working under the guidance of senior engineers. Your role will involve contributing to roadway and multimodal design development, ensuring compliance with design standards, and gradually taking ownership of assigned tasks to advance your professional judgment and project experience.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • 7-10+ years of transportation engineering experience with TxDOT projects.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Proficiency in Microstation ORD, AutoCad, and Civil3D software.

Nice To Haves

  • Proposal writing/marketing experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review design plans, calculations, and technical reports for roadway and multimodal projects.
  • Apply engineering standards and codes to ensure accuracy and compliance in design work.
  • Support coordination with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and reviewing agencies.
  • Perform design analyses, cost estimates, and quantity takeoffs for assigned project components.
  • Assist in quality assurance reviews and respond to design review comments or field questions.
