Your Opportunity Stantec’s North Carolina transportation practice is looking for an experienced Roadway Design Engineer to join our Raleigh team. Your Key Responsibilities Get the chance to work on a variety of transportation improvement projects with Stantec’s structural engineers, traffic engineers, roadway engineers, transportation planners and environmental scientists. You will be part of an experienced roadway team designing and delivering a range of transportation projects, including roundabouts, intersection improvements, bridge and interchange designs, in addition to bike/ped facilities and greenway/trail designs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of science degree in Civil Engineering.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in transportation infrastructure projects is preferred.
  • EIT or EI certificate is required with flexibility on time required to obtain a PE license.
  • Proficiency with Bentley’s OpenRoads Designer (ORD) software
  • Good communication skills, multi-tasking, attentiveness to detail.
  • Open to learn new skills and interface with multiple project managers.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development of design plans for transportation projects.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work with a team of designers to successfully deliver projects.
  • Learn from senior project engineers or project managers.
  • Experience performing work which involves conventional types of plans, investigations, surveys, structures, or equipment.
  • Experience performing engineering calculations, interpreting engineering drawings and specifications, and assisting with proposal preparation.
  • Ability to support and coordinate work with multiple engineering disciplines, as well as drafting/CADD work for the project.
  • Support the preparation of progress reports and may supervise small projects.
