Requirements

• Civil Engineering Technology or Construction Management Associates degree with 0-2 years of roadway related work
• High School diploma and 5 or more years of experience as a roadway construction inspector
• Thorough knowledge of mathematical functions, including geometric, trigonometric, and algebraic calculations related to roadway/transportation engineering.
• Ability to read and comprehend construction plans, contract provisions, specifications, construction details, inspection and testing procedures, and any other project related documents
• Possess a valid GA driver's license.
• Abide by Atlas health and safety policy and procedures.

Nice To Haves

• GSWCC Level 1a, GDOT WECS, GDOT Field Concrete Technician, or ACI Concrete Field Technician Certification
• Prefer a working knowledge of GDOT specifications and standards, acceptable construction practices, materials, methods and equipment used for roadway construction.

Responsibilities

• Conduct independent inspection of roadway related construction to ensure contract and specification compliance.
• Measure and quantify the contractor performed work.
• Document and maintain project records.
• Coordinate project material testing.
• Inspect and evaluate concrete and asphalt placement.
• Inspect erosion control measure to ensure compliance with contract, as well as state and federal regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
