About The Position

WE ARE HIRING! AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Roadway Civil Engineering Intern – Summer 2026 to join our Orlando (Maitland), FL office. This intern will be mentored by and will collaborate with top Engineering associates who work on FDOT’s Moving I-4 Forward (MI-4) Program, and will reside in the client’s Celebration, FL office. The position will assist with engineering services such as environmental and permitting activities, design and plans preparation for roadway design, and other engineering disciplines as they become available on the Program. This is an amazing opportunity to gain hands-on experience and a better understanding of the Transportation Engineering Industry. Requirements

0 -2 years of experience
Current student pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering at an accredited ABET university.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work on multiple assignments simultaneously.
Math skills to perform simple calculations; willingness to learn.
Basic computer skills required to enter data into spreadsheets or databases.

Nice To Haves

Prior internship with an engineering firm a plus.
AutoCAD and/or MicroStation experience.
Experience or exposure to FDOT plans preparation and design standards.
Specific interest in Transportation/Roadway Design.

Responsibilities

Gathers, logs and summarizes field notes or other data to be used by technicians or professionals in technical studies or projects.
Maintains records or files of technical data or documents.
Performs simple math calculations.
Performs simple drafting and CAD assignments following detailed instructions.
Assists in the preparation of graphic displays and presentation materials.
Performs such other duties as the Supervisor may from time to time deem necessary.
