AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Roads & Highways Civil Engineer Intern – Summer 2026 to join our Denver, Colorado office. AtkinsRéalis is one of the world’s most respected design, engineering, and project management consultancies. AtkinsRéalis has been providing infrastructure planning, engineering, construction, environmental consulting, urban planning, architecture, and program management services to public and private clients across the United States for more than 50 years. Our Internship Program, Explore, is designed for college students pursuing a degree in a STEM field and provides opportunities to learn what it’s like to work in a professional environment and apply what’s learned in class to the real-world challenges we face every day.

  • Provide administrative and operations support to Roads & Highways Engineering staff
  • Collaborate with engineers on Roadway plan production tasks
  • Perform simple drafting and CAD assignments following detailed instructions
  • Assist in the compilation of design data and the preparation of construction plans
  • Must have completed 60 hours towards a civil engineering degree from an ABET accredited program by the start of the internship (Summer 2026)
  • No experience is generally required if accepted into an Associate's or Bachelor's degree program in a related technical field
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, or OpenRoads Designer (preferred)
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills including active listening
  • Willingness to ask questions
