About The Position

The Roadhouse Ambassador is an integral part of our visitor's experience, providing product knowledge and ideas while providing excellent customer service. The perfect person for this role is bright, energetic, and great with customers. This person understands the link between our culture, brand promise, and mission as it relates to the products we promote and sell at the Roadhouse Mercantile and the support it brings to the overall mission of Best Friends.

Requirements

• Prior experience working in a retail environment handling transactions such as sales, returns, exchanges.
• Experience with handling cash, accurately managing, and counting cash is required.
• Customer service experience is required.
• Ability to communicate with people in a professional and personable way.
• Genuine passion for the mission of Best Friends Animal Society.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task and remain focused in a fast-paced environment.
• Detail oriented, organized, and motivated to keep work area clean.
• Ability to professionally advocate Best Friends' position on issues.
• Self-motivated to keep informed of facts about Best Friends news and events.
• Strong interpersonal skills, positive attitude, and a team player.
• Proficient computer skills, especially in Microsoft Office and Google Docs.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in visual merchandising.
• Prior experience with POS systems.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate kindness and the Golden Rule in everyday actions by practicing inclusion and respect for every person.
• Be a role model for the spirit of authenticity, kindness, and positive influence.
• Order product and assist in setting up and taking down Continental breakfast for Roadhouse guests.
• Share product knowledge and answer questions to help facilitate purchases.
• Count cash drawer at the beginning or end of the day to ensure accuracy and adequate change.
• Prepare end-of-day cash deposit.
• Maintain store appearance by keeping it stocked, cleaned, and organized.
• Process merchandise purchases, exchanges, and returns.
• Set merchandise displays and implement strategies to increase sales.
• Conduct inventory on a regular schedule and reorder and restock supplies.
• Support Roadhouse Front desk, Sanctuary gift store, and Sanctuary Visitor Experience division as assigned.
