About The Position

Transdev in Baltimore, Maryland is hiring a Road Supervisor. Road Supervisors ensure all routes are completed in compliance with safety procedures. We are seeking customer service-oriented professionals who are dedicated to safety. The Road Supervisor is responsible for maintaining the performance of service and attends to all day-to-day issues regarding routes, customer concerns, vehicles issues and the Operator team’s performance. Transdev is proud to offer: CBA Position: Position Subject to Collective Bargaining Agreement: $27.32 (Union Collective Bargaining Agreement Payscale) Starting pays $27.32 with progression to $28.14 over 1 year. Benefits Include: Vacation: 1st year of service: 72 hours Paid Sick Leave: Employees with less than 1 year of service shall accrue up to 40 hours of sick leave in accordance with the Maryland Healthy Working Families Act and shall be able to start using this accrued time on the 107th day following the employees’ date of hire. Insurance: Medical, Dental & Vision after 90 calendar days of employment for full-time employees, life insurance, 401K retirement benefits, and company holidays.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Supervisory experience with hourly employees; 2- 3 years transit supervisory experience with emphasis on safety preferred.
  • Computer literate – basic knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Workforce, Trapeze, and DriveCam.
  • Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.
  • Subject to a DOT drug testing and physical. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis, for any reason.
  • Knowledge of state and local regulations/guidelines, inclusive of DOT, FTA, and FMCSA.
  • Ability to interpret and initiate policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate ability to identify and understand problems and to determine the appropriate measures it takes to solve problems.
  • Considerable interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and oral.
  • Ability to manage customer relationships, provide strong customer service skills and work in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Proven organization skills, understanding the importance of prioritizing effectively and managing multiple tasks in an environment with ever competing demands.
  • Work outside in varying temperature, weather, and humidity conditions – 100% of the job is performed outside, work alone and in remote locations.
  • Sit for extended periods (up to 8 – 12 hours per day); frequently walk for long distances and on possible sloped ground or slippery and uneven surfaces.
  • Push and pull objects up to 50 pounds, occasionally throughout the workday; lift material weighing up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance; occasionally bend, kneel, or crouch to files or equipment stored at ground level.
  • Withstand heavy traffic areas while performing the duties of the job; tolerate exposure to considerable amounts of dust, vehicle fumes and noise.
  • Be eligible to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship now or in the future (if based in the U.S.).
  • Successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates and promotes a “safety first” lifestyle at the location.
  • Ensure operators are fit-for-duty at all times and ensure scheduling compliance.
  • Ensures operator pre- and post-trip operating procedures.
  • Ensure on-time-performance specifications.
  • Prepares and submits required reports in a timely manner.
  • Responds to any service-related assignments.
  • Assesses safety conditions of all aspects of bus service and monitors operator and passenger behavior while in service.
  • Oversees a smooth commuting experience for Operator and the public and share “best practices” with entire team.
  • Communicate job requirements and responsibilities to drivers.
  • Day to day scheduling, counseling, and submitting evaluation reports to local management.
  • Conduct on-the-scene accident investigations; assist drivers in preparing accident reports, OSHA reports and safety violations documents.
  • Develop and host driver training and safety courses; train new drivers and retrain drivers involved in accidents.
  • Observe drivers on the road – correct safety problems on the scene while documenting violations.
  • Liaison between drivers and both the customers and organization in customer service concerns
  • Evaluate and monitor driver safety and performance in compliance with legal, employment and labor policy matters.
  • Assist Safety Manager with DOT/FTA compliance – drug testing and recordkeeping.
  • Drive routes periodically.
  • Escalates issues to management team members when necessary.
  • Other duties as required.
