About The Position

Transdev in San Rafael, CA is hiring a road supervisor for our Marin Access paratransit services contract. We are seeking a customer service-oriented professional who is dedicated to safety. The road supervisors work closely with the Operations Manager and Safety Manager and other managers to foster a work environment of safety and quality customer service. The road supervisor provides support and leadership to the drivers; monitors and addressees driver performance in the areas of safety and service quality, including on-time performance, through constructive mentoring, coaching and recommending progressive discipline as needed. Additionally, the road supervisor gathers information needed by the organization to effectively identify root causes of incidents. accidents and service deficiencies for the purpose of implementing constructive change and meeting organizational performance goals. Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years old with a High School Diploma, GED or equivalent.
  • Valid California Driver’s License
  • Computer literate – basic knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Must be able to work flexible shifts and schedules as needed.
  • Subject to DOT drug testing and physical if applicable. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including cannabis for any reason.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • 2-3 years transit supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Embraces Transdev’s safety culture; adopts and employs the company’s safety rules, policies, and procedures; effectively communicates safety and service quality expectations to drivers.
  • Follows general policies, procedures, and practices in compliance with federal, state, client contract, local division and company rules and regulations.
  • Works in cooperation with managers and other supervisors to ensure seamless, safe, high-quality service to passengers.
  • Assists management with documenting employee actions within established guidelines including performing re-training and effectively recommending corrective discipline as needed.
  • Provides a role model to other employees by demonstrating safe work behaviors and following all company rules and policies.
  • Observes driver appearance, behavior and performance while on or reporting for duty or immediately after, including vehicle pre-trip, on-time pullout, rider boarding and alighting, trailing drive check, onboard evaluation, and post-trip vehicle inspection.
  • While on duty, maintains radio and telephone communication with dispatch and drivers.
  • Facilitates service provision, assisting with the performance of passenger trips when needed.
  • Responds to service problems with the goal of minimizing service interruptions.
  • Reviews vehicle video and applies the appropriate interaction with the driver in accordance with established policies.
  • Investigates and responds to operator incidents/accidents, potentially unsafe locations and reports of unusual situations by conducting investigations, making recommendations and completing follow up.
  • Effectively communicates with management in regard to operational, safety issues, concerns and makes recommendations towards their resolutions.
  • Provides passenger assistance in accordance with ADA.
  • Coordinates with maintenance manager to address roadside vehicle operability or other maintenance problems.
  • Prepares and maintains reports and performs clerical activities associated with operations.
  • Assists the safety and training manager in the administration of the company’s Drug and Alcohol testing and Work Comp programs, including but not limited to reasonable suspicion and post-accident need for testing determinations.
  • Assists in the investigation of passenger feedback and other matters in close coordination with management.
  • Provide daily shift reports and information as directed.
  • Maintains complete confidentiality of all information.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
