About The Position

Operates a variety of light equipment, machinery and tools in the maintenance and repair of county roads and drainage systems Operates a variety of hand and power tools, including chain saw, weed eater, blower, shovel, rake, limb saw, etc. Assists in traffic control at work sites Performs pre- trip and post-trip vehicle and equipment inspections; preforms preventive maintenance Performs public works construction, maintenance and repair duties; replaces road signs, installs driveways, etc.; pours, spreads and levels asphalt, concrete and gravel Attends department meetings and training sessions Performs all other related duties as assigned

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Knowledge of road construction and maintenance principles
• Knowledge of work safety principles and practices
• Skill in the use of hand and power tools
• Ability to read, write and perform basic mathematical calculations
• Ability to work in inclement weather conditions as necessary
• High school diploma or GED, current valid driver's license

Nice To Haves

• Minimum of 1 to 2 years of experience in a related field is preferred
