About The Position

The Liberty County Board of Commissioners is accepting applications for the full-time position of Road Maintenance Worker within the Road Department. The ideal candidate will be reliable and committed to the overall safety of the work environment. This position is responsible for the maintenance and repair of county-maintained roads and drainage structures.

Requirements

Safety rules and regulations.
Proper placement of guide signs.
Road maintenance and repair techniques.
Ability to operate a variety of vehicles and equipment.
Skilled in flagging traffic and establishing safe work zones.
Ability to use hand and power tools.
Oral and written communication.
Interpersonal relations
High school diploma or equivalent required.
More than six (6) months of related experience preferred.
Possession of a valid Georgia Class C driver’s license and acceptable driving history.

Responsibilities

Performs basic road repair and maintenance tasks.
Performs grass cutting and tree trimming using tractors, trimmers, and edgers.
Removes trash and debris from roadways.
Assists in the installation and repair of pipes and other drainage structures.
Performs traffic control and flagging activities as needed; follows safety rules and regulations on all work zone and flagging sites.
Cleans and maintains assigned vehicle, tools, and equipment.
Cleans and fixes roadway signs.
Picks up parts and supplies, as needed.
Transports voting machines to precincts during election season.
Performs related duties.
