About The Position

The County of San Diego is currently accepting applications for Road Maintenance Worker - Road Option, to fill vacancies in various locations within the County. Road Maintenance Workers are assigned to the Department of Public Works, and perform routine County roadway repair, roadway maintenance duties, manual labor, and other related road maintenance support work. Practical Exam and Interviews will be held on an ongoing basis. In addition to the base salary listed above, employees in this job class shall be paid fifty cents ($0.50) per hour premium while tree trimming, and twenty-five cents ($0.25) per hour premium while operating a motor sweeper.

Requirements

• One (1) year of experience performing general manual labor in a construction, maintenance, or repair setting.
• A valid California Class B permit is required at the time of appointment.
• Must obtain a Class B driver's license by the end of the probationary period.
• Must maintain a Class B driver's license and a current medical card throughout employment.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in road maintenance or similar fields.
• Familiarity with safety protocols in manual labor.
