About The Position

Suit-Kote Corporation, a leading Asphalt products manufacturer, road construction and maintenance and asphalt application engineering company is seeking candidates for an Operator. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up, maintaining and operating various pieces of equipment with the ability to operate throughout the day. Safety Expectations: All Suit-Kote employees are required to comply with all safety rules and to always observe safe work practices and operating procedures. Whenever on Suit-Kote property, at a customer facility, or operating Suit-Kote equipment, employees are expected to conduct themselves in a manner that promotes the safety of the employee, co-workers and others. Responsibilities/Job Duties: Varying types of work including: Cold mix, and Surface treatment Set up and run equipment Maintain truck log in according to state and federal regulations Maintenance tasks and light mechanical duties (pumps, gauges, valves, etc.) along with activities in elevated-heights. Truck loading and unloading Control and adjust equipment as needed Cross train in other departments for back up Ensure safety and security of equipment being transported Work with others to help complete tasks in a timely manner Varying types of work including: shoveling, flagging, conducting traffic. Basic troubleshooting Work in all types of weather conditions

Requirements

• Able to work efficiently and independently
• Exhibit strong customer service skills and willingness to work in a team environment
• Strong work ethic
• Must be able to communicate with co-workers and supervisors
• Physical Organization and time management
• Flexibility in hours - overtime and weekend hours may be necessary
• Passing a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening is required and a background check will be conducted
• Must have or be willing to complete ATSSA flagging course
• Working knowledge of general hand tools and power tools
• Must have or be willing to obtain an OSHA 10 Hour Safety Certificate
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds
• Observe and comply with necessary PPE requirements
• Must be able to work in a noisy area with many odors present
• Physically able to open and/or close dome lids on trailers; hook and/or unhook trailers from truck; climb ladder to check holding tank, and handle hoses associated with this position
• Bending, stretching, stooping, kneeling, crawling and squatting

Nice To Haves

• Commercial Drivers License a plus
• Ability to read and understand SDS (Safety Data Sheets)
• Hazmat endorsement a plus or willingness to obtain one.
• Position is considered full time, but seasonal in nature, with anticipated lay-off in the November thru March timeframe. Site specific locations may have varying seasonal requirements that can extend or contract these timeframes.
