If you have experience building and installing form structures using wood, patent form systems, or a combination of both, we want to hear from you! Job Description: The Carpenter constructs, erects, installs, fabricates, dismantles, and repairs structures, formwork and fixtures of wood, metal forms and associated accessories. This position is hands-on and field-based, with a focus on forming and framing concrete structures used in highways, bridges, and municipal infrastructure.

Requirements

  • Read blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures.
  • Select type and size of related materials according to the job specifications.
  • Study blueprints, sketches, or building plans for information pertaining to type of material required such as lumber or fiberboard, and dimensions of structure or fixture to be fabricated.
  • Select specified type of lumber or other materials.
  • Prepare layouts including lines and grade.
  • Marks cutting and assembly lines on materials.
  • Shapes materials to prescribed measurements.
  • Constructs forms and chutes for pouring concrete.
  • Assembles cut and shaped materials and fastens them together.
  • Fabricate from work then load, haul, and carry it to the job site and install per drawings, sketches, or plans.
  • Place and finish concrete in formwork and set and align form panels.
  • Set grout forms for epoxy and cement grout.
  • Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs (assistance recommended for heavier loads).
  • Work extended hours on foot, including on uneven or rough surfaces.
  • Climb ladders, kneel, crawl, or work at heights and in confined spaces.
