About The Position

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Bridge or Road Intern to join our Akron or Cincinnati Transportation Teams Summer 2026! In this role you will be provided the opportunity to expand in your skills and knowledge of bridge or highway engineering alongside excellent mentors on major projects in the State of Indiana!

Requirements

• 0-3 years of bridge or road design
• Engineering experience on road or bridge projects, including design-build and other alternative delivery projects
• Currently enrolled in a Bachelors and/or Masters program in Civil or Structural Engineering or related field
• Have the interest and ability to work on multiple bridge or roadway projects at once
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• High knowledge level of MS Office tools, CAD proficiency (Microstation preferred), and comprehensive knowledge and understanding of industry standards and applicable engineering software

• Prior internship experience

Responsibilities

• Determine creative and innovative methods and solutions for complex road or bridge engineering problems and select the most efficient and economical manner to achieve objectives
• Assure that the designs are in accordance with approved Federal, State and local agency requirements as well as following accepted industry practices and procedures
• Provide specifications, estimations, quantity calculations, technical reports, and detailed engineering analyses
• Review supplier drawing submittals and perform technical bid analyses
• Prepare and issue specifications, data sheets, and other construction documents
• May be assigned to a project or organizational team, or as a design engineer for intermediate to large scale projects
