About The Position

Performs a variety of duties, to include assisting on roadways, clearing debris flagging traffic, arranging barriers, and operating equipment and light trucks.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited high school/GED Program or additional equivalent related work experience.
• Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing.
• Must have a valid Texas Drivers License and good driving record.
• Will be required to provide a copy of 10-year driving history.
• Must maintain a good driving record and remain in compliance with Article II, Subdivision II of Chapter 90 of the Dallas County Code.
• Maintenance shop or road construction environment.
• Requires prolonged, standing, bending, squatting, twisting, kneeling, climbing and the ability to lift and carry in excess of 100 lbs., assisted.
• Ability to work in varied conditions (i.e., heat, cold, rain, ice, snow, etc.), inside and outside.
• Ability to operate equipment efficiently and safely.

Responsibilities

• Assists on roadways as assigned by performing flag duties, arranging barriers, cutting brush, and cleaning debris from roadways, and storm sewers, assisting in road construction, etc.
• Operates a variety of construction equipment and light trucks.
• Prepares routine operating and activity reports reflecting materials hauled, trip time, and job site address location .
• Performs other duties as assigned.
