Euclid Hospital's 9th floor Med/Surg and Stroke Unit is designated for patients who have recently suffered from a stroke and provides the highest level of comprehensive stroke care that ensures patients are being treated quickly, leading to improved outcomes and reduced recovery times. As a Primary Stroke Center, certified by The Joint Commission, Euclid Hospital has met strict national stroke care standards and is held to the highest quality and patient safety standards. A caregiver in this position works nights, 7:00pm-7:30am.

  • Provide direct nursing care.
  • Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans.
  • Monitor, record, document and communicate patients' conditions.
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
  • Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
  • Assess and coordinate patients' discharge needs.
  • Educate patients and their families.
  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • One year of current acute care RN experience OR military RN experience
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) in ED and Pediatrics
  • Completion of a Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC - adult) or Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC - pediatric) within two years of hire in dedicated Trauma Centers and ED
  • Cancer-specific Certification or demonstrated ongoing qualifying education for medical Oncology, Radiation Oncology, Cancer Center or Cancer Clinic and/or Chemotherapy
  • Completion of the Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Provider Status through the American Heart Association (AHA) in NICU
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) within one year of hire in ED settings
  • One year of acute care RN experience and/or Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) for SNF settings
  • One year of acute care and/or Emergency Department (ED) RN experience for ED settings
  • One year of acute care and/or rehab RN experience for rehabilitation settings
  • Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN)
