About The Position
The Registered Nurse (RN) at Great Oaks Recovery Center is a vital role responsible for delivering comprehensive nursing care to patients in a behavioral health and addiction recovery environment. This position is located next to Wharton, Texas, approximately 45 minutes south of Houston. The RN will supervise the care treatment and services provided by Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), and other staff on the assigned unit and shift. The RN will develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans for each client, ensuring that all aspects of patient care are addressed effectively. In this role, the RN will conduct thorough assessments and re-assessments of patients, documenting pertinent information and communicating effectively with the interdisciplinary team. It is crucial for the RN to report any client concerns and changes in condition to the supervisor and/or physician promptly. The RN will coordinate care by assessing both the physical and behavioral health needs of clients, maintaining accurate medical records, and educating clients and their families about various health conditions while ensuring client safety at all times. The RN will also be responsible for taking and accurately documenting physician's orders, administering medications as prescribed, and monitoring lab results to ensure medication compliance. The RN will supervise the self-administration of medications, maintain accountability for medication administration, and complete admission and discharge processes efficiently. Regular collaboration with the treatment team, participation in unit activities, and thorough documentation of client care are essential components of this position. The RN will also provide education to clients and families regarding medication usage and other relevant topics to ensure optimal client care.
