About The Position
The RN provides full range of hospice nursing care to patients and families in the Home Care Program. Provides personal care such as bathing Monitors patients' medical conditions and provides accurate reports to attending physicians as appropriate Works in an interdisciplinary care setting to teach, assist, and support patient/family with the dying process. Covers On-Call as needed Carries out the pain management and symptom management plan to keep the patient as comfortable as possible. Reassesses pain and notifies the registered nurse when pain is not manageable on the current medications. Responds to the physical, mental, social and emotional needs of terminally ill patients and their families. Provides care within all service areas of Hospice of Huntington, Inc.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited professional school of nursing.
- Licensed registered nurse.
- Minimum of 2 years nursing experience; home health or hospice nursing preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Proof of liability insurance.
- Proof of reliable transportation.
- Possesses the ability to travel to all of Hospice of Huntington's service
