About The Position

La Amistad Behavioral Health Services is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team in a unique full-time dual role position. Position Overview The Registered Nurse in this dual role will work a rotating schedule (five (5), eight (8) hours days per week. The schedule will include several days per week in our Adult Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) and several days in our Patient Admissions Department. This position offers a rewarding chance to impact patient outcomes directly while also playing a crucial role in the admissions process, ensuring seamless and efficient patient flow.

Requirements

  • Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Florida.
  • Minimum of two years of nursing experience, preferably with exposure to mental health or behavioral health settings.
  • Strong clinical assessment skills and ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a patient-centered approach.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency in admission software is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality nursing care to adult patients participating in the PHP, focusing on mental health and behavioral treatments.
  • Monitor patients' physical and emotional status, administer medications, and assist with therapeutic activities.
  • Collaborate closely with psychiatrists, therapists, and multidisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
  • Document patient progress thoroughly and maintain compliance with regulatory and organizational standards.
  • Conduct initial patient assessments and obtain pertinent medical histories to facilitate appropriate placement and care planning.
  • Verify patient information, coordinate with insurance providers, and manage admission documentation.
  • Serve as a liaison between patients, families, and clinical staff to ensure clear communication and support.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records in electronic health systems and assist in streamlining admission workflows.
