Requirements

  • Current MN license as a Registered Nurse.
  • Minimum of one year experience assisted living, preferred.
  • Good organizational skills with the ability to self-start and follow through with initiatives with minimal supervision.
  • Exhibits a caring heart with a passion for caring for the elderly.
  • Possesses good judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience using a resident record computerized system.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as an integral member of the health services team.
  • Assess, plan, implement and evaluate services of residents to ensure their needs are met.
  • Monitor and maintain resident records.
  • Assure that proper systems, policies, and procedures are followed correctly.
  • Conduct evaluations of staff performance of delegated nursing services in coordination with the Director of Nursing through appropriate documentation and consistent with policies.
  • Promote a positive, team approach and a healthy work environment.
  • Recognize and manage common geriatric syndromes common to aging adults: cardiovascular, respiratory, urinary, neurological, sensory and pain problems.
  • Communicate any changes in residents' needs or conditions to physicians and other personnel, facilitating the coordination of resident services with other providers.
  • Supervise medication practices and the use of medical equipment within the facility.
