About The Position

Number of Beds : 16 · Patient Ratios : 1:2, 1:1 for certain device patients · Unit staffing description- (unit secretaries and tech availability) : Free floating charge nurse to assist staff. Unit secretary and Administrative Care Tech M-F 0730-1530. Student Nurse Externs on variable shifts that assist nurses by performing tech duties. · Type of equipment : Phillips bedside telemetry monitors, Hill-Rom beds, Alaris IV pumps · Documentation system: Meditech · Scheduling requirements: 2 weekends/month, 1 summer holiday (Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day), 2 Winter Holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Years Eve, New Years Day) · Floating policy: C/L employees float as needed, typically to other ICU’s but can include other floors. · Patient Experience requirements: None specific Hospital Specifics- · Certifications: BLS Hiring profile Requested Skill Set:

Requirements

• Strong critical care experience, including CVICU experience
• Skills with PA catheter and hemodynamic monitoring required
• ACLS
• BLS
• 2 weekends/month
• 1 summer holiday (Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day)
• 2 Winter Holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Years Eve, New Years Day)
• Scrubs – black, red, or galaxy blue, scrub jackets/vests only
• 2 Years Experience

Nice To Haves

• Experience with IABP
• Experience with Impella
• Experience with CRRT

Responsibilities

• Provide care to immediate post-operative cardiac surgery patients, including ECMO, Centrimags, and HM3 LVADS.
• Perform central line insertion
• Perform swan insertion
• Perform intubations
