We are a Pediatric Day Center for medically fragile special needs children. We provide daily nursing care (M-F, 7:30am-5:00pm) in our facility for children ages birth thru 21 years of age who qualify for skilled nursing services. A Registered Nurse providing services on behalf of a center will have at least the following qualifications and experience: a valid RN license under Texas Occupations Code, Chapter 301, with no disciplinary action valid certifications in Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation and Basic First Aid; and one year of pediatric specialty experience with emphasis on medically and technologically dependent minors, obtained within the previous five years A Registered Nurse providing services on behalf of a center will be responsible for the following: maintaining compliance with the standards of nursing practice and delegation; developing a minor's plan of care; providing nursing interventions that includes parental training, information, and education to increase a parent's confidence and competence in caring for a minor; coordinating services with other service providers; monitoring the ongoing physical and developmental growth of a minor; having knowledge of access to available community resources; participating on the IDT and in the IDT meetings regarding a minor's plan of care and progress; administering medication, intravenous infusions, parenteral feeding, and other specialized treatments; monitoring and documenting the effect of medications, therapies, and progress in accordance with accepted standards of professional practice; communicating findings to a minor's prescribing physician and the center's nursing director; and supervising the center’s direct care staff independently, and for three months after completion of the competency evaluation.
