4 South ICU/Stepdown This unit is a 20-bed variable acuity unit; all staff is trained to the highest level of care (that being ICU), but Stepdown beds are integrated into the unit. The Registered Nurse is fully responsible for all actions as a licensed nurse and is accountable to patients for the quality of care delivered.

Assesses patient reports/records change of condition and notifies physician and/or supervisor and intervenes appropriately and documents accordingly.
