About The Position

The position involves assisting the Director of Nursing Services in managing the daily operations of nursing activities within a long-term care facility. The role encompasses administrative, personnel, nursing care, and safety functions, ensuring compliance with regulations and quality standards while providing high-quality care to residents.

Requirements

• Must possess a Nursing Degree from an accredited college or university.
• Must have training in rehabilitative and restorative nursing practices.
• 2 years or more experience in a long-term care facility is preferred.
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
• Ability to apply mathematical concepts such as fractions and percentages to practical situations.
• Must possess independent decision-making abilities and problem-solving skills.
• Must have leadership and supervisory abilities.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge and experience with PCC preferred.
• Current CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Director of Nursing Services in directing daily nursing activities.
• Develop, maintain, and update nursing service policies and procedures.
• Ensure nursing reference materials are current and accessible.
• Make reports and recommendations to the Director regarding nursing operations.
• Participate in quality assurance programs for the nursing service department.
• Review and update resident discharge plans as necessary.
• Ensure compliance with nursing service personnel job descriptions.
• Attend committee meetings and assist in preparing reports for nursing service programs.
• Ensure adequate staffing of licensed nurses and nursing assistants during shifts.
• Monitor nursing service personnel performance and compliance with policies.
