About The Position

Accountable for the management and continuity of care of patients with wound, ostomy and/or continence needs both within the inpatient and outpatient environments. Provides direct patient care and education by serving in the role as clinician, consultant, educator and researcher in a level one trauma institution. Works in collaboration with the RN Program Coordinator and Clinical Nurse Specialist to coordinate and improve the WOC care within the Froedtert & The Medical College of Wisconsin including development of policies and procedures, guidelines, standards of care and research. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Recent and substantial experience as an expert clinician and educator is required.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing is required.
• Current state of Wisconsin Registered Nurse License or a Multi-state Nursing License from a participating state in the NLC (Nurse Licensure Compact) is required.
• Certified Wound Ostomy Continence Nurse or Certified Wound Ostomy Nurse certification is required within 12 months of hire or transfer into the position.
• American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for the Healthcare Provider (BLS) is required within 90 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

• Experience as a Certified Wound Ostomy Nurse (CWON) is preferred.
• Master’s Degree preferred.
• Certified Wound Ostomy Continence Nurse is preferred.
