About the team The Corewell Health (CH) West Wound, Ostomy, & Continence Team (WOC) is a program of registered nurses specially trained in caring for abdominal stomas, dermal wounds, pressure injuries, incontinence and related skin conditions. The teams utilizes evidence-based practice standards to determine the most appropriate care for each patient. They are also an integral part of education for patients. They educate patients and families on proper care techniques, empowering them to manage their conditions effectively at home. Through their compassionate and skilled approach, the WOC team significantly contributes to patient recovery and overall well-being. This team focuses their efforts at the medical center and Blodgett campuses as well as staffing an outpatient ostomy clinic. Additionally, the CHGR West WOC is involved on many unit and system initiatives to help reduce patient harm.
