About The Position

Meritus Health is seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Wound Center team. In this role, you will play a critical part in delivering high-quality wound care and supporting a seamless continuum of care for our patients. The RN will perform comprehensive assessments, provide advanced wound treatments, deliver patient and family education, and collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary care team to promote optimal healing outcomes.

Requirements

  • Education -  ASN required.  BSN Preferred.
  • Experience - Minimum of one year of experience in a hospital setting required.
  • Licensure/Certification - Specialty certification recognized by the Magnet Recognition Program™ preferred. Current license to practice as Registered Nurse in the State of Maryland, or if resident of a state that participates in Nurse Multi-State Compact agreement, holds Registered Nurse License from that state that is designated as "Compact" or "Multi-State Privilege" using primary source verification and provides additional documentation as required by the Maryland Board of Nursing.  RN License from a compact state with a designation of "Single State" does not meet the requirement and nurse must obtain a Maryland license. Specialty certification preferred.
  • Knowledge/Skills/Abilities - Ability to apply the standards of professional nursing practice with compassion and empathy.  Basic computer skills required. Must possess a high level of organization and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough wound assessments, treatments, and ongoing evaluations for patients
  • Implement and monitor evidence-based wound care practices, including negative pressure wound therapy, compression therapy, and bioengineered tissue applications
  • Educate patients and families on wound prevention, nutrition, and at-home care strategies
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team—including physicians, nurse practitioners, dietitians, physical therapists, and case managers—to develop and adjust individualized care plans
  • Accurately document assessments, treatments, and patient progress in the electronic medical record (EMR)
  • Serve as a clinical resource and mentor to nursing staff, promoting best practices in wound care
