About The Position

The RN, Wound Care Specialist at Adventist Health Sonora is responsible for providing specialized care to medically complex patients in an acute care setting. Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice required.
• Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Relevant clinical nursing experience preferred.
• Wound care certification preferred with a plan to achieve in a determined time period.

• Experience in nursing is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides care to medically complex patients in collaboration with the physician.
• Works autonomously with authority, responsibility, and accountability for wound care management.
• Serves as a resource for wound care management, including identification, assessment, treatment, and prevention.
• Conducts rounds on all patients with wound/pressure ulcers on a daily and as needed basis.
• Provides specialized consultation on wound, ostomy, and continence issues for patients, families, nursing, and medical staff.
• Collaborates with the healthcare team to provide updated information regarding wound care.
• Maintains complete, accurate, concise, legible documentation of patient status, interventions, and responses.
