About The Position

Located in Templeton amongst the oak trees, Adventist Health Twin Cities has been serving northern San Luis Obispo County since 1977. Comprised of a 122-bed acute care facility, our team provides exceptional care in emergency medicine, orthopedics, obstetrics, digestive disorders, wound care, and various medical, surgical and outpatient services. Locals enjoy weekly farmers markets in downtown Templeton, farm-to-fork dining, beautiful landscapes for hiking and biking, and beach days just fifteen minutes away at Cambria and Morro Bay. Job Summary: Provides care to medically complex patients in collaboration with the physician in a specialized acute care setting. Works within scope and experience and works autonomously and has authority, responsibility, and accountability for assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of wound, ostomy, and continence care program throughout the inpatient care areas. Serves as a resource for wound care management, including identification, assessment, treatment, and prevention. Within scope and experience, Pprovides specialized consultation on wound, ostomy, and continence issues for patients, families, nursing and medical staff. Serves as a consultant in the management of patients with draining wounds, fistula and tubes. Serves as a consultant for the treatment of patients with altered skin integrity due to pressure necrosis, drainage or incontinence. Works with physicians and nursing staff to provide updated information regarding wound care. Conducts rounds on all patients with wound/pressure ulcers and pressure injuries on an as needed basis.

Requirements

Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice: Required
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or Basic Life Support (BLS OR HS-BLS OR RQIBLS) certification: Required
AHA-BLS or ARC-BLS: Required

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN): Preferred
Relevant clinical nursing experience: Preferred
Wound care certification: Preferred with plan to achieve in determined time period

Directly provides health information to patients, families, and treatment team.
Maintains appropriate supply of equipment and materials.
Maintains complete, accurate, concise, legible documentation of patient status, interventions and responses.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
