Establishes/coordinates multi-disciplinary, comprehensive management plans. Utilizes skills in organization, planning, implementing, evaluating and providing care to wound care patients collaborating with panel physicians and other health care providers. Provides care to patients specific to assessments according to protocols and procedures, clinical competence in procedural skills, treatments, and patient/caregiver education related to wound care management. Provides efficient and effective care with the guidance of the physician during the clinic sessions, attends the clinics where scheduled. Manages a number of patients at the same time with high energy and organization. Manages the patient with pain. Utilizes policies and procedures for Quality Management of wounds using the clinical pathways established. Implements patient care utilizing appropriate physical resources in a safe manner. Prioritizes patient care based on: department needs, acuity levels and available resources. Provides care and advocates for patients incorporating their rights and values. Performs laboratory studies and orders imaging exams as required. Uses Hospital Information System appropriately and accurately. Gives rationale for patient care and clinical decisions based on current scientific literature and principles. Performs and communicates as part of the team. Manages patients requiring wound care. Documents consistently, using accepted guidelines. Performs Quality Control duties on equipment. Handles daily routines and administrative duties according to department expectations, managing time effectively. Performs other work-related duties as assigned or requested.
