Requirements

  • Graduate of accredited school of nursing or education equivalency for licensing.
  • State of Work Location: Illinois - Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA) and Registered Professional Nurse (RN) - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR).
  • State of Work Location: Missouri - Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA) and Registered Nurse (RN) - Missouri Division of Professional Registration.
  • State of Work Location: Oklahoma - Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA) and Registered Nurse (RN) - Oklahoma Board of Nursing (OBN).
  • State of Work Location: Wisconsin - Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association (AHA) and Registered Nurse (RN) - Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services.
  • Advanced Life Support (ALS) - American Heart Association (AHA) or Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) - American Academy Pediatrics (AAP) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) - American Heart Association (AHA).

Responsibilities

  • Collects and analyzes pertinent health data to develop and implement an individualized plan of care.
  • Coordinates care delivery to promote woman-, newborn-, and family-centered care.
  • Employs health teaching strategies that promote, maintain, or restore health.
  • Evaluates the progress toward attainment of expected outcomes.
  • Determines decisions and actions on behalf of women, fetuses, and newborns in an ethical manner.
  • Practices in a manner congruent with cultural diversity and inclusion principles.
  • Communicates and collaborates with women, families, and healthcare providers.
  • Serves as a role model, change agent, consultant, and mentor.
  • Acquires and maintains knowledge and competencies reflecting current evidence-based nursing practice.
  • Generates or integrates evidence to validate and evaluate interprofessional knowledge.
  • Implements new measures to improve the quality of nursing practice.
  • Evaluates nursing practice in relation to professional standards and guidelines.
  • Considers resource factors related to safety, effectiveness, and fiscal responsibility.
  • Practices in an environmentally safe and healthy manner.
  • Applies evidence-based practice and scientific knowledge in nursing care.
  • Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
