About The Position

The RN Women's Services role is dedicated to providing comprehensive nursing care to women across various stages of their health journey, including prenatal, perinatal, postpartum, and gynecological care. This position plays a critical role in supporting women's health by delivering compassionate, evidence-based nursing interventions and education tailored to individual patient needs. The nurse will collaborate closely with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure holistic and coordinated care, promoting positive health outcomes. Additionally, the role involves patient advocacy, health promotion, and the facilitation of a supportive environment for women and their families. Ultimately, the RN in Women's Services contributes to enhancing the quality of life and well-being of women through expert clinical practice and empathetic patient engagement.

Requirements

  • Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
  • Completion of an accredited nursing program (Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) All certifications must be current.
  • One year experience working in labor and delivery, postpartum, or gynecological units.
  • Knowledge of electronic medical records (EMR) systems specific to women's health.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree.
  • Advanced certifications such as Inpatient Obstetric Nursing (RNC-OB) or Maternal Newborn Nursing (RNC-MNN).
  • Training in lactation consulting or patient education.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care to women during pregnancy, labor, delivery, and postpartum periods, ensuring safety and comfort.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments, monitor vital signs, and recognize changes in patient conditions to initiate appropriate interventions.
  • Educate patients and families on health maintenance, prenatal care, childbirth preparation, breastfeeding, and postpartum recovery.
  • Collaborate with obstetricians, pediatricians, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Document patient care accurately and maintain compliance with healthcare regulations and institutional policies.
  • Support patients emotionally and psychologically, addressing concerns related to reproductive health and childbirth.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and stay current with best practices in women's health nursing.
