Fairview Hospital’s obstetrics and gynecology caregivers work very closely with their patients to help improve their health. Our physicians are board certified in Obstetrics/Gynecology and are trained in minimally invasive surgery, which could help reduce pain, scarring and the length of hospital stays. As a Registered Nurse (RN) to our OB Float Pool, you will work with diverse populations of women and children in numerous units, departments and/or locations while learning from many of our best caregivers. This position floats to Pediatrics, NICU and Postpartum (Mother Baby Unit). A caregiver in this role works nights + on-call shifts from 7:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m. with weekend and holiday requirements.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (ADN or BSN program)
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross within one year of hire
  • One-year of current acute care RN experience OR military RN experience

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN)
  • Prior NICU experience
  • Adult ICU or Med/Surg experience

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care.
  • Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans.
  • Monitor, record, document and communicate patients’ conditions.
  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
  • Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
  • Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
  • Educate patients and their families.
