About The Position

Logan Health Whitefish has an opportunity for a Registered Nurse to join their team as an Emergency Department & Special Care Unit float! Logan Health Whitefish is a 25-bed critical access hospital located in the scenic ski resort town of Whitefish, Montana. We are in the heart of the Flathead Valley, which offers an endless array of outdoor recreation, skiing, hiking and biking trails, whitewater rafting, and the breathtaking Glacier National Park. If you love the outdoor lifestyle, this is the place for you! This is a unique floating position will primarily be working in the Whitefish Emergency Department, and will also be cross-trained to work in our Special Care Unit (SCU). Our unit is a focused 4-bed unit providing intensive, specialized care for adult patients who require more monitoring and support than a general medical or surgical floor, but who do not need ICU-level care. We care for patients recovering after surgery, those needing cardiac monitoring or advanced drips like insulin or alcohol withdrawal management, and occasionally pediatric post-op patients. Staffed by a dedicated team of nurses, the SCU combines teamwork and autonomy to ensure the best outcomes through vigilant, detailed care.

Requirements

  • Current Montana RN license or a multi-state compact license with authorization to practice nursing within the state of Montana.
  • BSN degree preferred.
  • Minimum of two (2) years' experience in a similar position preferred.
  • Prior ED experience is preferred.
  • AHA ACLS and PALS certifications.
  • ENCP certification obtained within 6 months of hire.
  • NRP certification (desired).
  • Possess knowledge of professional nursing theory, medical terminology and principles of professional nursing practice.

Nice To Haves

  • Critical Care experience is preferred.
