About The Position

As a Registered Nurse (RN), you’re the engine and the heart of patient care at Rochester Regional Health. The Cardiac Evaluation Unit specializes in caring for patients recovering from complex cardiac events and procedures, offering an excellent environment for nurses looking to deepen their cardiac expertise. On 5100, you will: Care for patients with heart failure, post-MI, and those requiring continuous oxygen therapy Manage post–Cath Lab patients, including TAVR and PCI Care for post-device patients (pacemakers, AICDs) and those with temporary pacemakers or arterial sheaths Administer and monitor cardiac drips for arrhythmias and CHF Collaborate closely with the Cath Lab team, with strong opportunities for career progression into Cath Lab nursing If you’re seeking a supportive, fast-paced unit that will expand your cardiac skills and open doors across your nursing career, 5100 offers the perfect next step.

Requirements

  • Diploma or Associates Degree in Nursing required
  • RN License in New York State
  • Basic Life Support Certification (BLS)

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred
  • At least 6 months RN experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Patient Care & Service. Promote and restore patients' health by completing the nursing process; collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary team members; performing various treatment procedures; providing physical, educational and emotional support to patients, friends and families; supervising assigned team members
  • Planning & Communication. Develop and document individualized care plans customized for each patient’s unique needs, with support from the interdisciplinary health team as needed; maintain effective communication to convey patient health status, treatment plans and progress
  • Electronic Health Record (EHR) Management. Demonstrate proficient use of an EHR – including accurate patient and provider documentation and communication
  • Compliance. Adhere to required department and system protocols, regulations (local, state, federal) and education requirements
