The Surgical Medical Intensive Care Unit at St. Anthony Hospital is a specialized 12-bed ICU with 2:1 ratios. The SMICU plays a crucial role in the recovery and stabilization of critically ill patients recovering from general, thoracic, vascular, orthopedic, plastic and oncological surgeries. SMICU also specializes in the stabilization and treatment of complex medical patients recovering from DKA, post-cardiac arrest, and acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS). The diverse range of surgical and medical patients cared for by the SMICU reflects the complexity of cases they handle, requiring specialized care tailored to each patient's need. Devices and equipment seen in SMICU: Chest tubes, abdominal drains, arterial lines, central lines, Vioptix, CRRT with Prismaflex, target temperature management with Artic Sun, massive transfusion protocol using the Belmont. As a Nurse with us you will assume responsibility and accountability for facilitating, communicating, and collaborating with both the healthcare team, and the patient/family to identify and meet the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of the patient. You will promote the optimal health, well-being and safety of the patient through use of the nursing process and in accordance with patient care standards, guidelines and the State Nurse Practice Act, and demonstrate personal accountability for relationship-based care, organizational mission, and core values. Weekend Option Commitment & Differential RN Weekend Option position requires six month commitment to working weekend schedule. $10/hr weekend option differential applies for Saturday and Sunday shifts.

  • Assume responsibility and accountability for facilitating, communicating, and collaborating with both the healthcare team, and the patient/family to identify and meet the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of the patient.
  • Promote the optimal health, well-being and safety of the patient through use of the nursing process and in accordance with patient care standards, guidelines and the State Nurse Practice Act
  • Demonstrate personal accountability for relationship-based care, organizational mission, and core values.
  • Associates Degree in Nursing required; Nursing Diploma or by endorsement
  • One year RN ICU experience
  • Nursing skills and knowledge base specific to specialty
  • RN License required; Current state nursing licenses or valid RN license from a participating state in the National Licensure Compact
  • Medium Work - (Exert up to 50lbs force occasionally, and/or up to 20lbs frequently, and/or up to 10lbs constantly)
  • Qualified external applicants with at least six months of direct RN experience are eligible for a $20,000 sign-on bonus!
  • Depending on your location, you may be eligible for up to $8,000 in relocation assistance!
  • Bachelors Degree in Nursing preferred
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing required for new graduates, preferred for experienced RNs
