We have 24/7 pediatric hospitalist coverage and our board certified OB/GYN physicians deliver on average, 300 babies a year. Requirements

Basic knowledge of pathophysiology, the nursing process, nursing interventions, pharmacology, methods utilized for delivering nursing care and the management of patients and personnel
Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and current Indiana RN licensure required
Ability to interpret fetal monitor rhythms and complete newborn assessments

Nice To Haves

2 years of OB experience is preferred
Nursery/Pediatric experience preferred
Neonatal Resuscitation Program certification is preferred, or must be willing to complete
BLS certification preferred
ACLS certification preferred
PALS certification preferred

Responsibilities

Delivers general nursing care to patients from the prenatal period through adolescence, serving the nursing care needs of families as well.
Administers prescribed medications and treatment following approved nursing procedures and physician order.
Observes patients, records significant conditions and reactions, and notifies supervisor or physician of conditions and significant incidents.
Prepares equipment and aids physician during treatment and examinations of patients.
Assesses patient vital signs to detect deviations from normal and determines patient progress.
Has daily responsibility in areas of personnel assignments, supervises licensed and non-licensed personnel, patient placement, cost containment, patient and family education and customer satisfaction.
