RN - WCMC Emergency Services - Full Time - 12 Hour - Nights
About The Position

The staff registered nurse (RN) is a licensed professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for planning, delegating, and coordinating the nursing care of a group of patients during a designated time frame utilizing the John Muir Medical Center Standards of Care, ANA's Standards of Practice and Professional Performance, and the California Nurse Practice Act, Title 22, and Title 16. The RN coordinates and provides care through the therapeutic use of self, nursing process, and the environment and technology, in partnership and collaboration with interdisciplinary team members.
Requirements
- Graduate of an Accredited School of Nursing Required
- 1 year Nursing - Emergency - Required or 1 year Nursing - Critical Care may be considered in lieu of ER experience or 1 year Nursing – Medical Acute Care and Previous Emergency Department cross-trained experience within 2 years of hire or certification as an Emergency Nurse (CEN) or completion of an Emergency Nursing training program
- RN Registered Nursing - California Board of Nursing Required
- BLS Basic Life Support - American Heart Association Required
- ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support - American Heart Association Required
- PALS Pediatric Adv Life Support - American Heart Association Required
- TNCC Trauma Nurse Core Course - Emergency Nurses Association Preferred, however, Required to work with Trauma patients (WCMC)
- Approved Cardiac Rhythm Test - Must Pass at time of hire (Required if hired after 11/15/2018)
- NIHSS National Institute of Health Stroke Scale - No Issuing Agency Certification - Achieved by the end of orientation to the assigned area Required
- NIHSS National Institute of Health Stroke Scale - No Issuing Agency Competency - Successful completion on an annual basis Required
