Cleveland Clinic's J8-1 Vascular Surgery Stepdown Unit is a unit that provides care to patients who suffer from disorders of occlusive, aneurysmal, inflammatory disease, trauma and neurovascular compressive syndromes involving the arteries and veins of the body. As an RN on this team, you will assist fellow caregivers in delivering exceptional care, from initial introduction to final send-off. In this role, you will interact directly with patients, families and visitors, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and supply healthcare education as needed. Additionally, the Cleveland Clinic system provides nurses with many professional development resources, including furthering education and online/in-person courses to enhance your skills.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited School of Professional Nursing.
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Two years of recent related nursing experience for external applicants OR less than two years of experience, but post orientation/90-day probationary period considered with the Chief Nursing Officer approval for internal applicants OR military RN experience.
  • Critical Care Course or validated OJT for critical care settings.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), Provider Status Certification through American Heart Association (AHA) within one year of hire for NICU.
  • ONS Chemo/Bio course within two years of hire in units where chemo is administered.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) in ED and Pediatrics.
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC - adult) or Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC - pediatric) upon or within 24 months of hire in dedicated Trauma Centers.

  • Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN).

Responsibilities
