About The Position

The Registered Nurse (RN) position in Urgent Care at Riverside Medical Clinic is a per diem role focused on providing and monitoring safe, cost-effective patient care in accordance with nursing standards and organizational policies. The RN will work in a dynamic environment, ensuring quality healthcare delivery while supporting the clinic's mission to improve lives and transform healthcare services in the Riverside region.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Registered Nursing program; A.A., Diploma, B.S.N. preferred.
  • Six months to one-year experience and/or training preferred in Urgent Care.
  • Current California RN License, BLS, ACLS, and IV experience required.

Responsibilities

  • Review patient medical record prior to visit to ensure chart readiness for physician.
  • Interview patients, take vital signs to detect deviations from normal and assess patient condition; record vital signs in patient chart.
  • Prepare treatment room for examination of patients; assist physician with procedures; clean examination room and sterilize appropriate equipment after use.
  • Explain procedures and treatments to patients and their family to gain cooperation and understanding.
  • Administer prescribed medication orally by injection or IV and document according to policy.
  • Initiate intravenous lines, add IV fluids to existing lines, and discontinue lines under the direction of the Physician or an Allied Health Professional.
  • Respond to life-saving situations based upon nursing standards, policies, procedures, and protocol.
  • Complete all documentation to ensure accurate medical records and verify that all physician orders have been carried out.
  • Assist in the formulation, evaluation, and revision of nursing policies, procedures, and routine in conjunction with the Director of Nursing.
  • Evaluate utilization of personnel, supplies, equipment, and physical facilities for optimum effectiveness.
  • Function within the RN scope of practice and Riverside Medical Clinic policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for ensuring all expired sample medications and patient supplies are discarded upon expiration date.
  • Maintain current California RN licensure, BLS, and ACLS certification.
