The RN Unit Manager is responsible for maintaining the standards of nursing care and practices of up to 60 residents while meeting the physical, psychosocial, and rehabilitation needs of the residents. The RN Unit Manager is also responsible for the daily management of LPNs and CNAs on the unit while coordinating care, performing assessments, and adhering to documentation guidelines.

Requirements

  • A registered nurse with a current MS license, with no restrictions.
  • Long term care (LTC) experience.
  • Computer skills.
  • Excellent documentation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Knowledge of age specific developmental factors specific to adult and geriatric residents in planning delivery of care.
  • Knowledge, skills, and techniques necessary to care for residents with needs such as Alzheimer's, dementia, dialysis, IV therapy, infectious diseases, wound care, and all disease processes if applicable.
  • Provides nursing care in accordance with Resident Care Policies and Procedures and ensures the safety and well-being of the residents is maintained.
  • Makes daily rounds for all areas of nursing care under supervision, visits each resident to evaluate physical and emotional condition, and implements necessary nursing interventions.
