About The Position

As the Unit Manager, you will ensure smooth daily operations of the nursing unit while providing leadership, guidance, and oversight to nursing staff. StoneRidge is a senior living and care community set on thirty-two beautiful acres, located just two miles from the riverfront and less than three miles from downtown Mystic, CT. Requirements

  • Active RN license in Connecticut is required.
  • 2-3 years supervisory experience in long-term care skilled nursing facility.
  • Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills.
  • Commitment to resident‑centered care and regulatory compliance.
  • Ability to lead with professionalism, compassion, and accountability.
  • Ability to pass preemployment screening process, which includes a fitness for duty physical, criminal background check, drug test and employment references as required by a licensed residential care facility.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise nursing personnel across all shifts, including staffing, scheduling, counseling, orientation, and performance evaluations.
  • Select, train, coach, and discipline nursing staff as needed.
  • Oversee nursing care and documentation to ensure compliance with regulatory, facility, and corporate standards.
  • Delegate assignments to licensed nurses and CNAs and follow through to ensure quality outcomes.
  • Participate in staff education and ongoing development.
  • Communicate with physicians and families regarding changes in resident conditions.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining comprehensive care plans.
  • Attend shift reports, management meetings, family meetings, and facility meetings.
  • Support survey readiness and compliance; assist during surveys.
  • Complete chart audits and documentation reviews.
  • Participate in physician rounds, wound rounds, and admissions reviews.
  • Ensure infection control practices are consistently followed.
  • Maintain residents’ dignity, safety, and self‑respect at all times.
  • Respond promptly to resident needs and emergencies.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure continuity of care.
  • Encourage restorative care to promote resident independence.
  • Participate in resident and family counseling as appropriate.
  • Attend required in‑services and meetings to maintain professional knowledge.
