About The Position

Works closely with the Unit Manager to ensure the unit operates safely, efficiently, and in compliance with regulatory standards. Serves as a clinical and operational resource for Nurses and Nursing Assistants while supporting quality resident care and unit coordination.

Requirements

Current unrestricted Registered Nurse license in the state of Mississippi.
Ability to read, write, and understand written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with leadership to establish long‑term goals and operational plans.
Plan, schedule, and oversee orientation programs for all personnel.
Oversee medical supply inventory and ordering.
Assist with monitoring and controlling unit expenditures.
Coordinate resident appointments and transportation needs.
Provide staff education, consultation, and oversight per policy and regulatory guidance.
Complete quality audits, logs, and checklists as assigned.
Assist with admissions, discharges, room changes, and hospital transfers.
Provide documentation oversight to ensure accurate and complete medical records.
Promote continuity of care through effective communication of resident needs and changes.
Demonstrate infection prevention practices and appropriate PPE use.
Identify safety risks and implement prevention plans.
Conduct rounds to ensure quality resident care.
Communicate with residents, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
Monitor nurse and nursing assistant documentation and provide corrective feedback.
Assist in maintaining compliance with standards and regulations.
Perform other duties as assigned.
