Sentara is currently hiring an RN Unit Coordinator to work at Sentara Virginia Beach General Hospital on the Surgery Unit 4 East. This position is full-time, working weekend days from approximately 7am to 7pm. The schedule includes working Friday, Saturday, and Sunday OR Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. The unit is known for its great teamwork and provides quality care to adult medical/surgical patients who are acutely ill or injured. The 19-bed unit specializes in post-operative surgical patient care with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5/6. Common clinical conditions include general surgery, urology, gynecology, vascular surgeries, and soft tissue traumas. The RN Unit Coordinator will demonstrate proficiency in nursing practice for the assigned specialty area and provide clinical leadership for the delivery of nursing care, leading safety and quality initiatives, simplifying workflow, and contributing to staff development.
