About The Position

The RN - Unit Coordinator - Med/Surg/Tele position at Olathe Hospital involves providing charge nurse responsibilities, including assignments, management of throughput, staffing to matrix, and responding to patient and staff needs. The role requires managing a patient care assignment based on patient care needs, assisting with hiring, education, and performance evaluation of the staff. The RN will work closely with the Nurse Manager and Human Resources in performance management counseling and discipline of staff. Additionally, the RN will instruct staff and ensure compliance with standards through daily monitoring and performance management. The position also involves serving as a role model and mentor for excellence in clinical practice and patient and employee satisfaction, taking personal responsibility for achieving productivity targets and budget compliance, and having primary involvement in unit performance improvement activities and outcomes.

Requirements

• High School Graduate
• Bachelor Degree in Nursing
• For ADN prepared nurses hired after August 1, 2024, must be enrolled in a BSN degree program within 6 months of hire date, must complete BSN degree by the third anniversary of hire date.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS or BCLS) - American Heart Association (AHA)
• Licensed Registered Nurse (LRN) - Multi-State - State Board of Nursing Registered Nurse in State of Kansas
• Must secure a Nurse Compact License (NCL) within 60 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

• Master Degree in Nursing
• 2 or more years of clinical experience
• Professional Nursing Certification
