About The Position

The Registered Nurse Triage (RN) position in Pediatric Gastroenterology is a full-time role located in Naperville, IL. The position requires 40 hours of work per week, with office hours from Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. There is no on-call duty, and weekends or holidays are not required. The role involves floating between locations in Elmhurst and Naperville. The Triage Nurse is responsible for patient care needs through inbound and outbound telephone practice, demonstrating positive customer relationship skills by assessing caller needs through active listening, clinical assessment, education, and advanced problem-solving abilities. The Triage Nurse will actively manage patients' immediate and ongoing needs with attention to acute and preventative intervention.

Requirements

• Current Illinois RN licensure
• Current CPR for Healthcare Providers
• Office RN and BSN preferred
• Self-starter, able to handle periods of high stress
• Prolonged periods of standing/walking/sitting/bending/reaching/climbing and repetitive use of hands
• Able to lift up to 40 lbs. and carry/push up to 20 lbs.
• Able to effectively communicate in English, both written & verbal

Responsibilities

• Conduct phone triage for patients
• Provide patient education
• Place Continuous Glucose Monitors
• Conduct testing and insurance pre-authorization
• Make referrals as necessary
• Clean and stock exam rooms
