About The Position

The Registered Nurse Triage position in Orthopedics is located in Warrenville, IL, with potential floating to other orthopedic clinics. This is a full-time role requiring 40 hours per week, with hours scheduled Monday to Friday based on clinic needs. There is no on-call duty, and weekends or holidays are not required, although evenings may be included. The role involves potential travel to all orthopedic locations within the service area.

Requirements

• Current Illinois RN licensure.
• Current CPR for Healthcare Providers.
• Office RN and BSN preferred.
• Prior work experience in an Orthopedic setting, highly preferred.
• Self-starter, able to handle periods of high stress.
• Ability to stand, walk, sit, bend, reach, climb, and use hands repetitively for prolonged periods.
• Able to lift up to 40 lbs. and carry/push up to 20 lbs.
• Effective communication skills in English, both written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care needs through inbound and outbound telephone practice.
• Demonstrate positive customer relationship skills by assessing caller needs through active listening and clinical assessment.
• Manage patient's immediate and ongoing needs with attention to acute and preventative intervention.
• Perform phone triage and patient education.
• Place Continuous Glucose Monitors and conduct testing.
• Handle insurance pre-authorization and referrals.
• Occasionally room patients and conduct RN visits including injections, staple removal, and wound checks.
• Schedule surgeries and procedures.
• Clean and stock exam rooms.
