About The Position

The RN Triage position in Gastroenterology is a full-time role located in Chicago, IL, with working hours from Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM. This position involves minimal to no direct patient-facing interactions, focusing instead on providing nursing care services under the direction of the office Practice Manager and Physicians. Responsibilities include phone triage, managing test results, medication refills, prior authorizations, and conveying plans of care, as well as patient education and teaching. The RN will also review and respond to messages from patients via NorthShore Connect and chart in Epic, the electronic medical record system.

Requirements

• Current professional Nursing Licensure in the State of IL
• Graduate of a NLN accredited school of nursing; BSN strongly preferred
• BLS/CPR certification for the Healthcare Provider
• 1 year of nursing experience in an office or hospital setting

Responsibilities

• Perform triage role with minimal to no direct patient-facing interactions
• Provide nursing care services under the direction of the office Practice Manager and Physicians
• Conduct phone triage, manage test results, and handle medication refills
• Process prior authorizations and convey plans of care
• Educate and teach patients
• Review and respond to NorthShore Connect messages from patients
• Chart in Epic, the electronic medical record
